Audrey - WAR BIRD
On December 7, 1941, Audrey Coltrane is airborne as a flight instructor for new airmen recruits at Hickam Fields training facility in Oahu, Hawaii. When the shadow of enemy Japanese planes block the sun, she's in a fight for her life to get out of the sky.
Finding love in the wake of the attack, she goes home to Dallas while her soldier goes off to war. Discontent, she answers a letter from famed aviator, Jackie Cochran, and drives to Sweetwater, Tx to become a WASP - Women's Airforce Service Pilot - ferrying aircraft for the military.
New friends, adventures in the sky, and letters from the man she loves keeps her going - but when tragedy strikes first at home, then overseas, Audrey once again finds herself lost and unsure of how to start over.
